Elements of Harmony will run at the Mark Gallery Collection of Fine Art (11 Grand Ave., Englewood, NJ 07631), presenting works by artists Tracey Adams and Michael Kessler, until April 15.

R 20th Century is pleased to announced the opening of Contemporary Korean Design, an exhibition featuring works by Byung-Hoon Choi, Hun-Chung Lee, Dae-Sup Kwon, Zong-Sun Bahk and Jin Jang. The inaugural U.S. collaboration between R 20th Century and its renowned Gallery Seomi in Seoul, Korea, this exhibition marks the New York debut for many of these artists and will showcase never-before-seen pieces.

The exhibit, presented by Historic New England, showcases original kitchens and kitchen artifacts that span centuries as well as geographic locations. Each item in the exhibition tells a story about life in that time period –  about food preparation and other domestic work; the use of household help; the impacts of new technologies; changes in gadgets and appliances; how advertising portrays women’s roles. Excerpts from letters and diaries that will also be on display reveal both nostalgic memories and despair at the endless drudgery of kitchen work.

Recent paintings by celebrated American artist Ira Barkoff will be on exhibit at Canfin Gallery from March 6 through March 21, 2010. The opening reception will be held on Saturday, March 6 from 5-8 p.m. Barkoff’s paintings are expressions of the spiritual qualities of nature. The exhibit will contain approximately 40 paintings.
