According to therealdeal.com, a mixed-use property with the largest fuel cell to operate in a residential building will officially open in New Haven, Conn., on Aug. 1. The $190,000 million building is a LEED Platinum property, designed by Becker + Becker Associates with financing from the Multi-Employer Property Trust.

NYDC's 3rd Annual New Talent Reception, with RISD

The New York Design Center (NYDC) hosted its third annual New Talent reception with the Rhode Island School of Design’s (RISD) Textile Department last night.

The final projects from six first-year and six second-year designers are displayed in the conference room adjoining the café on the first floor of the NYDC.

“It’s a beautiful gallery and it really suits our work,” said Maria Tulokas, Graduate Coordinator of the Textile Department at RISD.

Starting early: the High School of Art and Design Breaks Ground

I'm excited to report that late last month the city broke ground on a mixed-use development at 250 E. 57th St., that will house both P.S. 59 and a new High School of Art and Design, set to open to students in September of 2012. The high school will accommodate 1,400 students!
